Timothy Dam – Grants and Communications Director

Timothy, originally from Niagara Falls, Canada, completed an Interdisciplinary Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Sociology and International Development Studies from Calvin College in 2001.  Upon graduating, Timothy taught English in Shanghai, China to sophomore English Majors for a year.  He then travelled to East Africa with World Renew (formerly known as Christian Reformed World Relief Committee) first as an intern and then Program Advisor.  During his time there, he worked with local grass-root development organizations building organizational capacity in community development programming and implementation, financial accountability, monitoring and evaluation.

Upon returning to North America, Timothy was hired as a Project Manager for Media Research International, a non-profit organization conducting research projects in developing countries on media usage and knowledge acquisition.  He was responsible for supervising research teams, data collection, coding and entry as well as analyzing and producing written reports to international clients. In all,Tim has travelled to over 20 countries around the world.

As the Director of Grants and Communications at the Early Learning Neighborhood Collaborative, Tim ensures the record keeping system is up-to-date and accurate for the purpose of writing grants, reporting results, outcomes and evaluation to external donors and supporters.  In April, 2017, Tim completed his Master’s in International Development Administration with an emphasis on evaluation. Tim has been with ELNC since March, 2015.

In his spare time, Tim loves travel, taste new food and beverages from around the world and spend time with his partner and children.
