Dr. Nkechy Ekere Ezeh met with Jennifer Pascua Co-Host WZZM TV 13 to discuss ELNC’s effort to prevent Summer Learning Loss.
Did you know that during the summer months, disadvantaged children fall behind? It’s called “summer slide” or “summer setback.” But better off children build their skills steadily over the summer months. According to research, the pattern is definite and dramatic – as summer losses pile up, contributing to an achievement gap that can make the difference between whether students set out on a path for college or decide to drop out of high school. You can help ELNC prevent “summer slide” and feel just a little bit warmer inside by making a donation that will help us create a “culture of reading and learning in our neighborhoods”.
