Play to Learn

Play Groups for Families with Children 0-5 Years Old

Join our neighborhood play group! Learn skills to help your child be ready for Kindergarten!

This is a time for your children to play with other children their age while you connect with other caregivers and family members to learn how to support hands-on play with your child. You will also learn more about resources in the community. Our virtual or in person play groups are designed to help children with school readiness, health, and well-being. Play Facilitators will organize fun, child-centered activities so that families can participate together.

By joining a play group a child can strengthen kindergarten readiness skills through exploratory play. They can practice math, reading, writing, & language development skills. Parents can learn ways to interject cognitive development through play. They will get a “toolbox” of tips & tricks to turn everyday routines into learning opportunities.

We believe in the importance of having literacy all around. So all children enrolled in our program receive new books to build their home library and learning activity kits.

This program was made possible because of the generosity of Kent County taxpayers and the voter-approved Ready by Five Early Childhood Millage.
